Kaylah Marr
…is a Chicago-based dramaturg from Schenectady, New York, with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Studies from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. She also minored in History while at Ithaca. As a trained singer and performer prior to college, her musical background lends well to musical works, such as Opera. She also has a love of breaking stories down to their smallest pieces in understanding them, before piecing it all back together whole.
She is also a scholar of Antonin Artaud and the Theatre of Cruelty, if you are looking for such.
Additionally, Kaylah can provide her perspective as a Jewish Trans Woman, though it is not her focus.
Here’s what I can do for you!
For Playwrights:
I can be a New Play Dramaturg if you need, though I can also just be an extra set of eyes, to read and ask questions if that is all you want.
For Directors:
I was largely trained as a Production Dramaturg, and will do as much as you need me to. If you need or want a lobby display, we can discuss that further.
For Actors:
If you need to discuss your character or their place in the script, I can chat! I can also aid you in understanding the script as a whole, if you need.
For Anyone Else:
Even if we aren’t talking dramatic scripts, I can help you find clarity in your message.
